David Adams

60 years of boating qualifies David as an expert on all craft, in particular of a Nordic origin. Hands-on boating, both power & sail, since the age of 6, including many years of powerboat racing means he is Chief Test Pilot on client sea-trials, something he still thoroughly enjoys even after six decades of boating! Having worked for some of the biggest names in the British marine industry in his early career, David founded Wessex Marine in 1993 and 30 years later is still busy with the demands of running the company and when he’s not sat at his desk you might also catch him with his overalls on and a spanner in hand. David is well known as “The Oracle” of boating knowledge and is a walking encyclopedia of boating wisdom!

Guy Adams

Guy is the other half of the father and son partnership forming the backbone of Wessex Marine. Having been out on boats since before he could walk, Guy has been brought up on all things Wessex from a very young age and shares his father’s passion for time out on the water. Guy is the main point of contact for all sales enquiries and is very much “The Spec Expert” when it comes to the speccing process on new orders. He also heads up all boat show activities and manages the very popular Wessex Marine social media platforms. When he’s not at his desk tapping away at his keyboard or on the phone, like his father, he can also be seen out working on the boats with a polishing cloth or sponge in hand.

Paul Plumb

An adopted member of the Wessex family, Paul is Wessex Marine’s long-term shipwright and general fixer. He's known David since he was first apprenticed to a local wooden boat builder and a lifetime of incredible knowledge spanning from electronics to GRP, from woodworking to painting, Paul is “The One Man Boatyard” and his only drawback is that is he doesn’t have four hands! Paul is famous for his exacting eye for detail that compliments every boat that Wessex supplies. He also does every systems handover to each new boat owner at time of supply, an experience that Wessex works hard on to provide the most detailed and informative handover process to every one of their owners.

Peter Dennis

Preparation of the boats is something that Wessex Marine is famous for and Peter is responsible for all prep matters including cleaning, polishing, teak work and everything else that’s involved in getting the boats to the highest possible standard. With a background in prestige car detailing, “Pete the Polish” is a specialist when it comes to the fine details of preparation and come rain or shine, he is out on the marina working hard to ensure all our boats are spick and span. Peter is also responsible for much of the refurb work on older boats, something again Wessex is famous for, breathing new life into our owners’ boats that are in need of some love and TLC!

Celeste Jarvis

Every business needs someone to stitch everything together and Celeste does exactly that for Wessex Marine. She heads up the office and admin duties including managing all accounts related matters. The Wessex office can be a hectic place at times but Celeste is always there keeping everything under control and her super efficiency makes her perfectly suited to her role “The Organiser”. Again, a hands-on boating background means she too enjoys time out on the water and when back at her desk, Celeste also manages all the preowned brokerage listings and online platforms, as well as the extensive spare parts service and associated packing and dispatch duties.

Mark Porter (Seacraft Marine)

As one half of Seacraft Marine, Mark is a key part of the service team. Wessex works together with Seacraft to offer a dedicated support service to owners, so together with Mark Spink, he is the point of contact for all aftercare related matters. Mark has been working on Wessex boats for 25 years so knows them all inside-out and when it comes to any tech-related query, his knowledge is unrivalled! Specialising in marine electronics and power systems, Mark is always full of excellent advice based on his wealth of experience and like everyone at Wessex, he is a hands-on boater so on the rare occasions he’s not hard at work, he can be seen out in Poole harbour enjoying boating with his family.

Mark Spink (Seacraft Marine)

Mark is the other half of the leadership behind Seacraft Marine, assisting with not only aftercare for owners but also new boat commissioning. As an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, Mark has the privileged job of launching and carrying out the majority of commissioning sea-trials on new boats, a task that Mark takes on with pride and with a big smile on his face! As well as his background in marine electronics, Mark’s skills also cover GRP, carpentry and even CAD design, being fully involved in special retrofit projects for Wessex owners. Mark is a self-confessed mega-fan of Wessex boats and together with Mark Porter and his colleagues at Seacraft, they all share the same passion for boating as the rest of the Wessex team.
